Trump Touts DC Renovations and Midterm Message
President Trump emphasized Washington, DC renovations and campaign issues in his final pre-midterm speech, criticizing Democratic candidates.
President Trump highlighted renovations at the Reflecting Pool and other sites, criticizing Democratic candidates and acknowledging the difficulty of midterm elections for sitting presidents.
Trump claimed the Reflecting Pool was vandalized, but reports indicate damage was caused by a contractor. The Justice Department had previously dropped vandalism charges against David Hearn due to faulty installation.
